Title: The Love of your Bridal Days
Size: 57 x 76cm
Medium: Watercolour, charcoal, pastel, ink and acrylic on etching paper
Description: The bride and groom in this image represent the “marriage” which occurred between G-d and the Jewish People at Mount Sinai. The loving embrace of the couple is in turn embraced by the tallit which transforms into the mountain itself. The The Aseret Ha’dibrot, the ‘Crown of Torah’ and the Shofrot which sounded at the time of the giving of the Torah anoint the heavens. The couple is embraced by the holy Keruvim which adorned the Aron in the Temple. They face each other expressing the eternal bond of love between G-d and the Jewish People. The verse “I remember the love of your bridal days, how you followed Me into a land unsown,” refers to the Jewish People’s sojourn in the desert.
