Title: Pathway of Blessing
Size: 70 x 100cm
Medium: Watercolour, charcoal, pastel, ink and acrylic on etching paper
Description: This composition is divided into three sections, representing the three levels of sanctity as described in the Zohar. Each level derives its sustenance from, and is connected to, the level above. The dripping paint echoes this flow of spiritual blessing called ‘Shefa’. Blessing descends from the Heavenly Temple, through the Holy of Holies in the Earthly Temple, between the wings of the Keruvim which adorned the Aron (ark). They face each other in an expression of love between G-d and the Jewish People. Below, the Jewish People celebrate the rebuilding of the Third Temple. The Kohen Gadol (High Priest) stands, arms outstretched, receiving blessing from above. The stones on his breastplate, representing the Twelve Tribes of Israel, glow with a holy light.
