The flow of blessing and sustenance between them is called “Shefa” and is represented descending from above to below. The Heavenly Temple is surrounded by twelve glowing stars, representing the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Twelve silver trumpets, such as those blown in the Temple, reveal the names of the Twelve Tribes. They are positioned in the order in which they were placed around the Mishkan, which accompanied the Jewish People in the desert and formed the prototype for all future Temples. The composition is divided into three sections, representing the three levels of sanctuary as described in the Zohar. These are; the Earthly Sanctuary, the Upper Sanctuary of the Angels, and the Highest Upper Sanctuary, called the Supreme Heavenly Temple. Each level derives its sustenance from the level above it.
